Sale Public Library

Sale is a picturesque township in Gippsland, eastern Victoria. The Sale Public Library is one of six libraries operated by the Wellington Shire Council. The library is an impressive facility housed in a stunning community space. I photographed the library in September 2019 with the permission and cooperation of the library and administrative staff.

This library is a bookspace dedicated to people and organised to allow everyone access to the information they seek. It is spacious, open and light. The library absorbs patrons allowing them to occupy dedicated areas without undue disruption to other users. Areas for children, young adults, researchers and general readers are arranged taking advantage of the internal architecture. There were a large number of people in the library during my visit but this was not apparent to most.

My thanks to the staff who permitted and assisted me in this photographic project.
